Distillery Creek - Trunk Main replacement
Value of project
Less than $25M
The Distillery Creek Water Treatment Plant is located approximately 6km east of the Launceston CBD. Trunk water-mains gravity feed treated water to a series of reservoirs to service different zones around Launceston. Some of these trunk water-mains were constructed in the late 1800’s and are still in use.
It is recommended parts of the Distillery Creek water scheme pipeline are replaced as they are in excess of 120 years old and have passed the 80 years (unlined) life expectancy for cast iron pipes.
